Suffering with a work injury? You are not alone. Each year millions of Americans are injured at work. Work injuries range from improper lifting, falling, sitting improperly, repetitive stress or other traumas. Common work injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, low back pain, headaches, and neck and shoulder pain, are caused by repetitive stress.  These are work injuries even if work activity is only partially responsible.
What to do if you have a work related injury:
  • Promptly reporting your injury/illness to your supervisor, personnel officer, or other person designated by your agency;
  • promptly reporting any change in your physical or medical condition to your supervisor, personnel officer, or other person designated by your agency;
  • providing all necessary information to explain the circumstances of your injury;
  • documenting your medical condition and treatment;
  • following the treatment plan prescribed by the health care professionals who work with your injury; and
