The hip is a ball and socket joint that allows significant mobility and freedom of movement. The upper part of the joint is formed by the pelvic bone and the lower part is the top of the femur bone. Numerous muscles from the spine to the knee produce motion in the hip. Problems in any of these areas can cause symptoms that could be called hip pain.

Common Hip Conditions:

Please note: Pain in the hip area can sometimes be caused by a spine problem and pain in the groin area is often a sign of one of the hip conditions listed below.

  • Inflammatory Hip Conditions

  • Pelvis Fracture
