Your head and neck region is vulnerable to many different stresses. Bad posture can cause misalignment of your neck, head, and spine. Car accidents can cause whiplash. Age and wear and tear can cause arthritis. Even activities such as gum chewing and reading in bed can cause pain.

Neck pain may begin in any of the structures in the neck. These include muscles and nerves as well as spinal vertebrae and the cushioning disks in between. Neck pain may also come from regions near the neck, like the shoulder, jaw, head, and upper arms.

Headaches are a common symptom of neck dysfunctions. If the origin of your headache is from the neck region, your Doctor may be able to assist with proper stretching, strengthening and mobilization techniques.

Common neck dysfunctions include:
  • degenerative disc disease (DDD)
  • degenerative joint disease (DJD)
  • herniated or bulging discs
  • hypo/hyper mobility of the spine
  • muscular imbalances
  • bone spurs/osteophytes

Treatment protocols will be designed to meet and address your particular situation.
